What is grossly corrupt for a Senator in 2004 is impeachable, for the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of our Republic.

And what of this cession of huge tracts of Arizona land, to Mexican criminals?

And of course, this civil action against Arizona, for their enforcement our Citizenship protection law which you so determinedly fail to enforce, Mr. PINO (president in name only)?

And what of these rumors of an executive order to grant amnesty to the entire set of criminal residents, so they can vote for your corrupt cronies?

Democrat Party officials, politicians, labor leaders, and left-wing organizers have adopted a strategy to drastically transform America’s electorate through illegal immigration that will guarantee one-party rule and a socialist dictatorship.

The Curley Effect strategy reduces the political clout of the middle class by reshaping the American electorate. The strategy is named for Irish-American Mayor James Michael Curley, who transformed Boston from a city of poor Irish-Catholics and white Anglo-Saxon Protestants (WASPs) into an all-Irish city that would keep reelecting him.

Curley effectively drove the WASPs away by adopting government policies to confiscate their wealth and fiery rhetoric to increase his base among the poorer Irish.

The Curley Effect is a conscious effort to shape the demographics of an office-holder’s electorate by adopting destructive policies aimed at opposition voters, even when such policies cause an economic downturn for the political jurisdiction. The Curley Effect occurs when the incumbent does everything to ensure the probability of reelection and disregards the economy of the jurisdiction as the crucial determinant for reelection.

The Curley Effect happened in Detroit under Mayor Coleman Young and in Zimbabwe under President Robert Mugabe. During 24 years as mayor of Detroit, Young drove white residents and businesses out of the city, yet he remained popular among blacks who kept reelecting him, in spite of the city’s deteriorating economic base.

The Curley Effect also happened in Zimbabwe when President Robert Mugabe mistreated white farmers and openly encouraged their emigration despite the huge cost to the country’s economy.

Democrats know their party doesn’t do well nationally among white voters, compared to Republicans, but they do extremely well among black and poorer Hispanic voters, which is why they oppose Arizona’s enforcement of immigration law and promote comprehensive immigration reform.

Although Democrats claim to support mass immigration for “humanitarian” or “moral” reasons, their objective is to transform America’s electorate by granting millions of poor, low-skilled illegals immunity and citizenship to solidify their political base and ensure their power in perpetuity.

If the Democrat strategy succeeds, not only will America’s racial and cultural composition be forever changed, but also its political and religious liberties will be extinguished in the embrace of communitarianism.

In a stunning revelation at an Arizona town hall meeting this past Friday, Republican Senator Jon Kyl told his constituents that President Obama privately insisted that he will not secure the border until amnesty for illegal aliens passes first. According to Kyl, Obama argued that Democrats would lose their bargaining chips for any type of amnesty if the government beefs up its presence on the chaotic border. “The problem is,” Obama allegedly told Kyl, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

SEN. JON KYL: I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us…. Here’s what the president said. “The problem is,” he said, “If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

[gasps from the audience]

KYL: In other words they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform. Now, I explained, “You and I, Mr. President, have an obligation to secure the border. That’s an obligation. It also has some potentially positive benefits. You don’t have to have comprehensive reform to secure the border, but you have to secure the border to get comprehensive reform. I said, “You’d be surprised, maybe you don’t think that there would be any more incentive for comprehensive reform, but I’m not so sure that that’s true. In any event, it doesn’t matter. We’re supposed to secure the border.”

That’s why this is being done. They frankly don’t want to do it. They want to get something in return for doing their duty. And that’s—

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Chicago politics.

KYL: Yeah.

According to Kyl, President Obama won’t secure the border in the Tucson Sector in Arizona because by doing so he loses leverage on “comprehensive immigration reform” – which is publicsectorese for making Democrat voters out of illegal aliens.

This is a man for whom playing politics trumps doing his job.

Which is not a surprise. We’ve known that all along.

But it’s still amazing that someone like this could possibly be president of the United States, no?

I’ll end this post with this question:

Is such gross refusal to abide by our Constitution and enforce U.S. law an impeachable level of misdemeanor?

Traditionally, national ID cards are hallmarks of oppressive regimes.

Senators Lindsey (Patsy) Graham (RINO-South Carolina) and Chuck-U Schumer (Progressive Democrat-New York) want to mandate that all legal American workers have a new national biometric identification card, which will include embedded personal information and fingerprints.

RINO Grahamshi contends that a mandated national ID card is nothing more than a tamper-proof Social Security card.

“We’ve all got Social Security cards. They’re just easily tampered with. Make them tamper-proof. That’s all I’m saying,” Graham said.

However, privacy advocates disagree and are worried that the biometric card would become a license to exist. They claim the narrow scope for worker ID cards will expand — much like the Social Security card morphed from being an account number of the Social Security system to a de facto national identification system — and will resemble an internal passport system requiring the government’s permission to carrying out daily affairs.

“We’re not only talking about fingerprinting every American, treating ordinary Americans like criminals in order to work. We’re also talking about a card that would quickly spread from work to voting to travel to pretty much every aspect of American life that requires identification,” said Chris Calabrese, legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union.

Republicans have pushed to make mandatory the current E-Verify system, which checks whether employees or potential employees are legally in the U.S., but Patsy and Chuck-U whine that the system is ineffective. They claim the biometric ID card will make it more difficult for companies to hire illegal immigrants.

Buffo Bill O’Reilly and media firebrand Screwy Louie Dobbs favor the Senators’ ID card idea. Buffo Bill said on the O’Reilly Factor (see Lou Dobbs on Illegal Immigration segment) that the idea was a “moneymaker for the US” and that it should be “fast–tracked” and done by this year.

The national biometric ID card is the centerpiece of Patsy’s and Chuck U’s Immigration Plan to give millions of illegal aliens amnesty. The progressive and his pasty are planning to meet with Brother O this week to update him on their scheme to import 15 million new Democrat voters.

Thus far, Chuck-U’s patsy is the only RINO to publicly support his scheme, but Patsy’s looking for another RINO co-sponsor to help launch the effort. If mentor John McCain weren’t up for reelection, Patsy wouldn’t have far to look. But Grahamshi needn’t worry, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins have always proved reliable standbys for progressive causes.

The White House intends to ram amnesty for illegal immigrants down the throats of the American people as soon as they get finished ramming through Obamacare. They have been holding secret meetings to plan their attack, unreported by the mainstream media. From the Corruption Chronicles — WH Meeting To Legalize Illegal Immigrants:

Preoccupied with healthcare and expanding government, President Obama is still working full throttle to shove through an immigration reform bill prior to the midterm elections because Latino groups have threatened to withhold votes for Democratic candidates.

To appease the influential La Raza movement, the commander-in-chief met privately with his staff this week to devise a measure that will grant United States citizenship to the country’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants…

…the administration has planned a huge immigration rally in Washington D.C. later this month to “spotlight the issue and build needed momentum.”….

Visibly overwhelmed with national security, the ailing economy, sky-rocketing unemployment and other hot-button issues, Obama is dedicating resources to immigration reform because the powerful La Raza lobby is growing impatient and pressuring him to fulfill his campaign promise to legalize the undocumented…..

Obama’s intentions run directly counter to public sentiment. Immediately following his election, a Zogby poll found that support for Obama did not equate with support for amnesty:

…the victory by President-Elect Barack Obama has led to some illegal alien advocates claiming the American people support amnesty for immigration lawbreakers.

However, a nationwide survey of actual voters reveals that Americans strongly support immigration enforcement, and that less than one-third of Obama voters favor granting amnesty to illegal aliens.

The poll conducted by Zogby International … also found that a decisive majority of voters believe that an illegal alien amnesty would “further harm the interests of struggling American workers.”….

Right now, we have at a minimum 11 million lawbreakers draining our social services and taking American jobs, when 14.9 million citizens are out of work, not counting the 30 million Americans who are underemployed or the one million Americans who have given up trying to find a job.

UPDATE: The White House is meeting again today to plan “immigration reform.”

President Obama is due to meet today with the two senators who have been trying to plot a legislative course to an immigration reform bill, and the National Council of La Raza is impatient for clear signs of movement.

“If the meeting is just to ‘hear more,’ it’s not going to cut it,” Clarissa Martinez of La Raza said in Huffington Post. Martinez wants a clear sign of movement from Obama’s meeting with Sens. Charles Schumer and Lindsey Graham.

“With the Congressional legislative runway getting crowded and time running out before the November elections, it is time to land this plane,” said Martinez. “Monday’s meeting must be followed by a clear, bipartisan proposal and a firm timeline for Senate action. Anything less will be regarded as more stalling by the tens of thousands coming to DC to march in two weeks.”

Martinez was referring to a March 21 demonstration intended to raise the pressure for congressional and White House action, despite the widespread feeling in political circles that there is little chance for substantive action on a bill this year.

In a report from the White House on Friday, Univision reporter Lourdes Meluza said that while presidential advisers “are aware of the difficulty of the political challenge, nevertheless they say the president hasn’t moved back from his intention to advance this project.”

In that report, White House adviser — and former NCLR official — Cecilia Munoz said the Obama administration is asking that Schumer and Graham produce specific proposal in the form of an immigration reform bill.

According to an Obama advisor, the real purpose of “comprehensive immigration reform,” also known as “amnesty,” is to flood the US with left leaning new voters who will fundamentally change the political orientation or our country. What used to be a center right country will be a leftist country thanks to millions of illegal immigrants who are granted citizenship under the guise of “solving” our illegal immigration problem.

Granting citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants would expand the “progressive” electorate and help ensure a “progressive” governing coalition for the long term, declared a recent adviser to President Obama whose union group is among the most frequent visitors to the White House.

“We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters,” stated Eliseo Medina, international executive vice-president of Service Employees International Union, or SEIU….

Medina said that during the presidential election in November 2008, Latinos and immigrants “voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates. Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up.”

“Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three? Can you imagine 8 million new voters who care about our issues and will be voting? We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle.”….

Medina and the SEIU are top supporters of Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez’s Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Bill, which seeks to document up to 12 million illegal immigrants inside the U.S.

It’s official. The purpose of amnesty is not humanitarian, but political.

The illegal immigration problem can be solved by securing our borders and enforcing our laws. It’s called “attrition through enforcement” and it works!

The federal-local law enforcement partnership to deal with criminal aliens has been weakened by the Obama administration.

As most of you may already know, the federal government has a program called “Program 287g” which allows local law enforcement to cooperate with federal law enforcement to enforce immigration law. This program is in operation in dozens of states and counties around the country and has been a great success wherever it has been established. It was set up to allow local police to detain, interrogate, and even begin deportation procedures on illegal immigrants.

Well, now the Obama administration, in the person of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chief Janet Napolitano, is doing everything possible to undermine Program 287(g). I suspect that the thinking in the Obama administration is that they don’t want to do anything that might lower the number of illegals in the US as they want as many of them as possible around for the day when they expect to push through amnesty for them.

Now Judicial Watch is fighting back. They have filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the DHS to fight their undermining of Program 287g.

Judicial Watch Files FOIA Lawsuit Againt DHS

Local communities across the country are taking advantage of a federal program, called 287(g), to train law enforcement officers in illegal immigration enforcement techniques. And it’s working. These newly trained police officers are shutting down illegal alien crime and helping to deport illegal alien criminals out of the country.

What is the Obama administration’s response to the success of this program? Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano decided to implement “reforms” to weaken it as part of her comprehensive “review” of all border security policies. Judicial Watch, of course, wants to know everything about how and why this incomprehensible decision was made, which is why we filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) last week….

We filed our original FOIA request on July 20. The DHS acknowledged receipt of the request on July 30 and then granted itself extra time to process it. (We see this quite a bit with our FOIA requests — the federal government simply ignores the statutory 20-day response window and allocates more time for processing.) However, DHS has not abided by its own extended deadline and has not provided Judicial Watch with a date certain when it will provide responsive documents or demonstrate that responsive records are exempt from production.

As you may recall from previous installments in this space, law enforcement officers have indicated that 287(g) has helped them to significantly reduce crime rates. And, thanks to Judicial Watch’s public education efforts highlighting the program, at least 67 local law enforcement agencies currently take advantage of 287(g), up from 27 in 2006.

According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the program has identified more than 70,000 individuals suspected of being in the country illegally since January 2006….

However, despite the fact that 287(g) is clearly working, the Obama administration seems intent on undermining the program. Arizona’s Maricopa County Sherriff Joe Arpaio is a particular target of this “reform.” Because of his successful and comprehensive implementation of 287 (g), “America’s Toughest Sherriff” has been the target of attacks by the usual pro-illegal alien suspects, such as the ACLU and so-called Hispanic rights groups. Leftists in the Obama Justice Department also initiated a “civil rights” investigation that seems like straight-up intimidation and harassment.

The vast majority of Americans want federal immigration laws enforced. Local law enforcement officers can contribute to this process and they have every legal right to do so. You can be sure that 287(g) is under attack because Obama appointees have an “amnesty” agenda at odds with enforcing the law. No wonder we’ve had such a difficult time getting these documents.

America’s toughest sheriff, Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, has been using 287(g) to good advantage — SHERIFF’S FEDERALLY TRAINED DEPUTIES MAKE 40 MORE ARRESTS

(Phoenix, AZ) Maricopa County Sheriff’s federally trained deputies (under the 287g agreement) last night arrested 40 illegal aliens during a human smuggling saturation patrol in the North Valley over a four hour period. The arrests were made during four separate traffic stops near Anthem Way.

Sheriff Arpaio stated that his human smuggling deputies arrested 25 illegal aliens during the investigation on state felony human smuggling charges which is a class four felony. Those arrested last night on state human smuggling charges admitted to paying between $1,000 and $5,000 for illegal entry into the United States from Mexico.

The remaining 15 illegal aliens arrested were processed by sheriff’s deputies and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Last night’s arrests bring the total booked under state felony human smuggling charges by sheriff’s deputies to 1,637 since the law was enacted.

Sheriff Arpaio commented on recent reports that claim the flow of illegal aliens has slowed down into the United States but every time his deputies have gone out they have had no problem making numerous arrests in short periods of time.

These same human smuggling deputies arrested four Chinese illegal aliens originating from Beijing less than a week ago at the exact same location. They also appeared to be using Mexican smugglers to gain illegal entry into the United States through Mexico.

Program 287(g) adds the resources of state and local law enforcement to the efforts of the federal government to defend our national security from criminal invaders.  We should support Judicial Watch in their efforts to prevent Janet Napolitano from weakening the program with “reforms.”

The rather inappropriately named “American Apparel” clothing company has been forced to lay off 1800 illegals, which accounts for about 25% of their work force. From Latina magazine we have this:

American Apparel Forced to Lay Off 1,800 Immigrant Workers

After a lengthy investigation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, American Apparel owner Dov Charney has been forced to fire 1,800 employees (about a quarter of the company’s workforce) because of their immigration status.

The firings at the well-regarded Los Angeles based company provide a clear example of how the Obama administration is trying to move from workplace raids to forced termination in the fight against illegal immigration. But the firings are not without controversy, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said the terminations were “devastating” and his office publicly called on the federal government to focus on employers that exploit and abuse their workers. American Apparel has historically been very good to their workers, providing all of their garment producers with health and life insurance and paying them well above the standard going rate for garment workers.

But politicians like Representative Brian P. Bilbray, a Republican from San Diego, say that the firings are fair for employers like American Apparel, whom he says have “become addicted to illegal labor.”

“Of course it’s a good idea,” Mr. Bilbray said of the crackdown. “They seem to think that somehow the law doesn’t matter, that crossing the line from legal to illegal is not a big deal.”

In efforts to raise awareness of a campaign to grant legal status to illegal immigrants (a move President Obama has supported in the past), American Apparel began producing t-shirts that say “Legalize LA.”….

As far as I’m concerned, this is one small step toward lowering our staggering unemployment rate, which is nominally approaching 10%.  (The true unemployment rate, the number of workers actually without real jobs, is much higher.)  Maybe this company, which should be called “Un-American Apparel,” will now hire American citizens and pay them an honest wage.

New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez knows no limits when it comes to spending taxpayer money on benefits for illegal aliens who are not even supposed to be in our country in the first place.

Now, according to The Hill newspaper, Sen. Menendez is trying to make sure that whatever health care plan comes out of Congress this year covers illegals as well as US citizens:

Senior Democrat turns healthcare debate into fight over illegal immigration

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) is putting Democrats in a bind by seeking to let illegal immigrants benefit from the healthcare overhaul.

Menendez, the only Hispanic senator, has considerable leverage with Democrats because he may represent the deciding vote on the Senate Finance Committee… He’s also the party’s campaign committee chairman, giving him added influence.

Menendez said he is withholding his support for the bill until his concerns about immigration and other matters are addressed….

In an email message dated September 24, Grassfire president Steve Elliot said:

As if the contentious health care debate isn’t enough for Americans to handle, President Obama is now using it to set the stage for widespread amnesty!

Speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute during a meeting last week, he said, “This [health care] debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all.”

This is outrageous!

With each passing day it’s becoming abundantly clear that ObamaCare is little more than a ruse for a radical reshaping of our nation and a massive encroachment and increase of government power!….

The government will require that our tax-dollars fund the healthcare needs of the 12-18 million illegals!

Yesterday the Senate Appropriations Committee voted 17-12 to add Sen. Diane Feinstein’s five-year amnesty for agricultural workers to the Iraq supplemental spending bill. A vote to pass this could come as soon as today. From Yahoo! News:

A supplemental appropriations bill intended to provide funding for the war effort in Iraq is being used to promote amnesty for illegal aliens and more low-wage guest workers for powerful business interests. The addition of two amendments to the Iraq War Supplemental Appropriations bill will mean that in order to provide emergency funding for our troops in Iraq, senators will be forced to approve an illegal alien amnesty and expand guest worker programs that harm American workers.

The Senate Appropriations Committee today included an amendment offered by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) that would grant a five-year amnesty to 1.35 million illegal aliens working in agriculture, plus their spouses and children, and allow agribusiness to freeze wages for new guest workers at 2007 levels for the next three years. The five-year amnesty would likely be a prelude to permanent legalization for these illegal aliens.

A second amendment adopted by the committee, sponsored by Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), would vastly increase the number of unskilled H-2B guest workers permitted to work in this country. The Mikulski amendment would reinstate the exemption for returning H-2B workers from numerical caps on the program.

What we witnessed today in the Senate Appropriations Committee is a cynical attempt to use Americans support for our men and women in Iraq to advance blatant special interest legislation that benefits powerful business lobbies, charged Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). Tying amnesty for illegal aliens and still more cheap labor for powerful business interests to support for our troops in Iraq is an unconscionable abuse of the appropriations process.

Roy Beck, of NumbersUSA, said:

At today’s markup of the Iraq supplemental appropriations bill, the Senate Appropriations Committee committed an outrageous act of disrespect for our men and women in uniform and to the citizens of this country by adopting an amendment by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) that gives amnesty to illegal-alien agricultural workers….

A vote by the full Senate may occur as early as tomorrow, so please contact your Senators now to urge them to work to strip the amnesty from the Iraq spending bill on the floor, as well as the other amendments increasing immigration levels…..

Tentatively called the Emergency Agriculture Relief Act of 2008, this is a slight-of-hand, scaled-down version of Feinstein’s AgJobs amnesty bill that she had previously introduced….

… this amendment is just another attempt by the amnesty crowd to do away with our borders. We must be strong and active to short-circuit this latest underhanded attempt….
