Late Friday, Barack Obama declared the H1N1 virus to be a national emergency.  He announced the measure on Saturday.  The declaration gives him the following authority:

These proclamations give force to 470 provisions of Federal law. These hundreds of statutes delegate to the President extraordinary powers, ordinarily exercised by the Congress, which affect the lives of American citizens in a host of all-encompassing manners. This vast range of powers, taken together, confer enough authority to rule the country without reference to normal Constitutional processes.

Under the powers delegated by these statutes, the President may: seize property; organize and control the means of production; seize commodities; assign military forces abroad; institute martial law; seize and control all transportation and communication; regulate the operation of private enterprise; restrict travel; and, in a plethora of particular ways, control the lives of all American citizens….

Whenever the government wants to do something that is likely to be alarming or unpopular, it is done late on Friday night, so that the normal news cycles can be avoided. The fact that Obama did this late on a Friday night and did not announce it until the following day, a Saturday, should be sufficient warning to every American that this administration is up to no good.

Most citizens are unaware that the Constitution has long since been effectively set aside by a series of Executive Orders, which grant the sitting president sweeping dictatorial powers. As far as personal freedom is concerned, we have been living on borrowed time.

Another thing that most folk don’t realize is that elected officials have had a plan to protect themselves against armed insurrection by an outraged populace when the situation is discovered. On March 13, 2008 the U.S. House of Representatives held a secret closed door meeting, with attendees sworn to secrecy. Ostensibly to work out Electronic Surveillance of Terror Suspects, the meeting actually dealt with the possibility of civil war in the United States. Here are the details which were leaked and widely published, not in the mainstream media, but in the Blogospehre:

1. The imminent collapse of the U.S. Economy to occur sometime in late 2008
2. The imminent collapse of the U.S. Government finances sometime in mid 2009
3. The possibility of Civil War inside the United States as a result of the collapse
4. The advance round-ups of “insurgent U.S. Citizens” likely to move against the government
5. The detention of those rounded up at The REX 84 Camps constructed throughout the United States
6. The possibility of public retaliation against members of Congress for the collapses
7. The location of safe facilities for members of Congress and their families to reside during massive civil unrest
8. The necessary and unavoidable merger of The U.S. with Canada and Mexico establishing The North American Union
9. The issuance of a new currency called the AMERO for all three nations as an economic solution.

There is little indication that Barack Obama wants to continue the Bush-initiated pursuit of the North American Union.  However, it is abundantly clear that he wants to abolish personal freedoms and private enterprise to institute socialism, with a focus on an eventual global world government.

This declaration may be the trigger.  And, suspiciously, it is not made in response to any actual data.  CNN Health reports:

Calling the emergency declaration “an important tool in our kit going forward,” one administration official called Obama’s action a “proactive measure that’s not in response to any new development.”

Another administration official said the move is “not tied to the current case count” and “gives the federal government more power…”….

Back in April, the Obama administration first declared the H1N1 Flu a public health emergency which allowed them to obtain somewhere around 12 million doses of antiviral medications from the federal stockpile. This was done at a time when there were only 20 confirmed cases in the U.S. all of whom were recovering without a problem.

So why declare this a national Emergency? This is the question that is puzzling a lot of people. According to the CDC’s own statistics, the number of people that have died from swine flu is far less than the number of people who get sick and die from the regular flu. In fact, most people who become infected with the H1N1 Swine Flu are only getting mild flu symptoms and appear to recover within a few days.

So is this and attempt to gain more power or is there a real emergency?

It’s odd that he isn’t having his daughters vaccinated against an illness he calls a national emergency. Maybe he wants to make sure the vaccines are available to those who need it most, since there’s a shortage.

Which makes it even more odd that Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, announced Thursday that we’ll be sending some of our vaccine to foreign nations. That’s right, one in ten vaccines available to Americans, amid a shortage, will be sent somewhere else. … Am I the only one who finds this a bit strange? Not to mention that these are the same people that are asking us to allow them to take over the medical industry in America.

Barack Hussein Obama intends to cede US sovereignty to the United Nations at the December “Climate Summit” in Copenhagen. Instead of filing charges against ACORN employees for criminal violations captured on tape by hidden camera, Baltimore City State’s Attorney is looking to prosecute two investigative reporters for violating Maryland’s wiretap laws in filming the group’s lawbreaking acts.

State’s Attorney Patricia Coats Jessamy, a Brother O supporter and contributor who worked on the Maryland Women for Obama Steering Committee, issued the following statement concerning the criminal acts committed by the Association of Community Organizations For Reform Now (ACORN) employees at its Baltimore office:

“The only information received in reference to this alleged criminal behavior was a YouTube video…. [T]he audio portion could possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law, Annotated Code of Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article §10-402, which requires two party consent.

If it is determined that the audio portion now being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. The penalty for the unlawful interception, disclosure or use of it is a felony punishable up to 5 years.” [emphasis mine]

Jessamy, who has held the office since 1995, is looking to prosecute 20 year-old journalist Hannah Giles and 25-year old film maker James O’Keefe for failing to acquire ACORN’s permission to expose its heinous underbelly to the world. A nonpartisan state’s attorney would be looking to prosecute ACORN as a criminal enterprise under the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statutes.

In the video, O’Keefe and Giles show up on ACORN’s stoop seeking advice for purchasing a house to serve as a brothel. O’Keefe poses as a pimp with plans to run for Congress, and Giles is his prostitute girlfriend who intends to staff their brothel with smuggled teenage girls from El Salvador.

After making their intentions known to the ACORN workers, O’Keefe and Giles are given instructions on how to go about getting a loan to purchase the house, with further advice to list the girls as dependents on their tax returns and to train them to keep quiet about the prostitution activities.

Jessamy seems to be more interested in prosecuting violations of unauthorized taping than in prosecuting “child abuse, interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution, tax evasion,” and illegal immigration violations that may have been committed by the ACORN workers.

If Jessamy has an obsession with enforcing Maryland’s unauthorized taping law and prosecuting its violators, she fought her compulsion to selectively apply Maryland’s law on at least two occasions in 2006 and in 2000 when WMAR-TV in Baltimore used “undercover journalists with cameras to record people without their knowledge, and won awards for their efforts.”

But that was then, and 2009 is now, so when two young journalists with hidden cameras go undercover to expose a group of lawbreakers that support Brother O’s politics and policies, for Jessamy it’s more a matter of aligning with kindred spirits than with the rule of law.

Jessamy is obviously more interested in protecting fellow travelers and in enforcing the law against those who threaten Brother O’s power and policies than in carrying out her sworn duty and in upholding her oath of office.

If Jessamy presses to file charges down-the-road, will any fair-minded person look on her prosecution as anything but retaliation for uncovering the criminal activities of her president’s favorite group of community organizers? Will fair-minded people regard her authoritative actions as anything other than a tread-lightly warning for anyone who dares to uncover and expose the misdeeds of Brother O’s Obots?

I think not.

Former Vice President Al Gore’s man-made global warming claims are a hoax that threatens our future and the future of our children. Václav Klaus, president of the Czech Republic, who just assumed the presidency of the European Union, is right when he states that “environmentalism is the new communism and climate change is a dangerous myth.” (Source.) At last the European Union has a courageous leader like Klaus, who dares state what is obvious to informed Americans and Europeans — that the man-made global warming claims are a fraud.

Unfortunately, the mainstream media, which seems to be paid by humanity’s enemies like George Soros, is hardly reporting the opinions of disapproving leaders like President Klaus and dissenting scientists.  At the recent conference on global warming in Poznan, Poland, more 650 scientists from around the globe challenged the man-made global warming claims. The dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of United Nations scientists (52) who authored the media hyped Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

Additionally, more than 31,000 American scientists have signed onto a petition that states,

There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate…

Preparing to use the global warming hoax, President-elect Barack Obama has already telegraphed his intended agenda of “cap and trade” along with other heavy investments from increased taxes on the US population. Thus, Obama will increase his power and his control over the economy and the people. If not stopped, the global warming scam will enrich the scammers (Gore and Obama’s friends), increase the power of the UN and communists like Obama, and multiply poverty and servitude for the rest of us.

THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN

For the most part, the people of this country seem totally unaware that while the global elite who run this country passionately promote the “war on terrorism,” those same elite are also violently attacking the liberties of the heartland. While they create a gargantuan Department of Homeland Security for our “protection,” they are using that very same department to eviscerate the constitutional protections of our republic. While they insist that we are dependent upon oil from Saudi Arabia, they are ignoring giant oil and natural gas discoveries located under the frozen tundra of our 49th State (and other places). The elite have brilliantly turned the drumbeats of war against Islamofascism into a giant smokescreen to hide their insidious plans to wage a different kind of war against the American people….

I have been aware of the writer below for a while. He says, probably with more authority, what I have been saying since 1989. Two recent items reveal Moscow’s intentions. First, President Vladimir Putin has announced that he is suspending Russia’s commitment to follow the Conventional Forces in Europe treaty (CFE). This means that Russia can move tank and motorized infantry divisions to NATO’s doorstep. Second, Russian radio news broadcasters have been ordered to make 50 percent of their reporting on Russia “positive,” and that the United States is – from now on – to be described as Russia’s enemy.

President Putin’s intentions are clear. The Cold War is to be renewed. America is the “main enemy” once again. It has been my contention, for many years, that this was the KGB’s intention from the outset. The collapse of Communism was a staged event. It was a repeat of Lenin’s New Economic Policy of the 1920s, in which Russia pretended to liberalize and move toward capitalism, drawing investment and technology from the West. I believe that the political process in Russia, from 1989 to the present, was guided to this end. In 1989 America’s leaders could not see the Kremlin’s intentions because intentions are invisible to the naked eye. And so America’s leaders were fooled. Now Russia and China will emerge together as “one clenched fist,” and their intention is to smash America….

The first woman Speaker of the House, promising the most honest Congress in history, promising a new spirit of bipartisanship, is setting records in her first 100 days:

• fumbling over leadership appointments: efforts to pay political debts even if it meant appointing people with huge ethics problems
• failed demands for a bigger airplane for her entourage, costing taxpayers $22,000 per hour to operate, followed by threats to cut Pentagon funding when denied the plane
• calling the President an idiot and Republicans evil while promising cooperation, consensus building, bipartisanship,
• iron-fisted management of legislative proposals to the exclusion of Republican amendments and debate,
• denials al Qaeda is operating in Iraq, a known fact,
• extreme efforts promoting radical agendas forwarded by the ACLU, feminist groups, the corporate abortion industry, Planned Parenthood, radical environmentalists, and  the NEA
• claiming to support the troops, all the while working to undercut them at every turn.

(Note her daughter’s nationally broadcast “documentary” slamming evangelicals.)

It gets better.

Recent reports indicate Pelosi has engaged a hired gun from the Soros militia, the Open Society Institute.   Joseph Onek used to work for OSI. He is now Pelosi’s general counsel, chief legal advisor to the person second in line to the White House.
 
Big deal you say?
 
Perhaps reading the following Soros statements delivered in Brussels last November will jostle the mind:

“To my mind, the European Union embodies the principles of an open society and it ought to serve as a model and motive force for a global open society. The concept of open society was first used by the French philosopher Henri Bergson in his book The Two Sources of Morality and Religion published in 1932.  One source is tribal and that leads to a closed society whose members feel an affinity for each other and fear or hostility toward the other tribes.  By contrast, the other source is universal and leads to an open society which is guided by universal human rights and seeks to protect and promote the freedom of the individual.”

Hopefully, the picture is coming into focus for all of us.   “Global open society,” by definition, requires the abolition of “tribal” and “closed” societies, chief among them in the mind of Soros, these United States.  “Tribal” and “closed” to people like Pelosi, Onek and Soros translates for many of us in the heartland to: “patriotic.”  A Soros/Pelosi “open” society will be closed to Christians, and Jews, and patriotic Americans, nothing “universal” about it.
 
So, we have Onek, an apostle of Soros, at the sleeve of the Speaker, whispering sweet niceties in her ear, all to forward the cause.  
 
Their agenda is obvious, and their opposition to all things Bush and Republican become understandable in view of the larger picture, the bigger objective: world government. 
 
Their agenda, based on their own words, words echoed by people like Kerry and Edwards and HRC and Dean and Reid, drives them to vehemently oppose real immigration reform (amnesty!), victory in the war on terror (surrender, appeasement!), Republican influence of any kind (destroy them!), tax cuts (for the rich!), traditional values (bigots and hypocrites!), even American sovereignty (America is the problem!).
 
Democrat thinking runs along these lines:

• Real immigration reform strengthens America—unacceptable
• Victory in Iraq secures America, forwarding sovereignty—not good
• Republican control of the Legislature helps forward the cause of preserving the Union—anathema
• Tax cuts stimulate the economy and derail socialist efforts to re-distribute wealth (i.e. purchase votes)—-another item on the conservative agenda to destroy
• Success in the war on terror thwarts globalization—-must be resisted
• Religion promotes “closed” and “tribal” societies—must be purged

The irony is that the U.S. is a nation of tribes coming together forsaking tribalism by agreeing on basic principles, thereby creating the most open society in history, a society run by the consent of the governed, established by faith in a loving God who desires freedom for his children, a republic providing more individual freedom and preservation of human rights than ever before, anywhere.
 
There is no freedom other than a God-sustained freedom based on tested moral principles.   The lessons of history are clear, noted by the Founders, given life in our Constitution. Remove God and morality from the equation and the only option is tyranny, as any serious student of history will attest.   Unless people volunteer to look after one another motivated by the love of God in their hearts, we rapidly descend into selfish ambition and warfare.
 
The Soros crowd would destroy what works in the name of a utopian vision that has always failed.
 
Soros claims we can pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps, acknowledging our insufficiency and ignorance, and still create an open society where the rights of individuals are protected, and he wants to base all this on a humanistic vision of world government, pointing to the example of the European Union as the pace-setting model.  (Never mind Europe is moribund, bankrupt and overrun by Moslems, that European birth rates are so low, the Europe of yesterday will not exist tomorrow.)
 
Soros sounds like just another tyrant, this time in eco-groovy clothing, spouting the best of intentions, paving the road to hell.   Be suspicious of any pied-piper assuming he knows better, promising a better way.   An ego that size is dangerous indeed.
 
Thus far we’ve been fortunate to see the leaders of globalization demonstrate gross incompetence.   
 
We saw Pelosi stumble in her first few days as Speaker, and her fumbling continues, but this is not necessarily good news.  She appears a useful fool in the crafty hands of George Soros.
 
The President won’t say it for some reason, but growing numbers of Americans are saying it:  Pelosi  and  Soros and their kind are anti-American, one-world conspirators—translation—traitors to our ideals and our way of life.
 
The pulse of Pelosi and her minions is beating to the destruction of American sovereignty in the name of world government.   Let’s not be fooled.   This is a serious threat to our freedom, our prosperity and the future for our children.   Democrat presidential candidates are all alike in their embrace of this effort to extend one-world governing authority, based solely on the exercise of human power fueled by human wisdom.

Human wisdom is no wisdom at all.  Will we be foolish enough to rely on our own strength, our own wisdom, ushering in another era of world war and global carnage?  Looks that way.
 
World Wars started by Europeans last century should be instructive in this regard, in view of efforts to create world government, in view of the words of Soros and his allies.
 
The only way to accomplish global government is by the sword.   Islamic aggressors know as much and are working toward that goal.  Soros and Pelosi know it too.  So far, their swords are only judicial and legislative.  (Perhaps Bush/Cheney security should be beefed up.)
 
Finally, Obama, the Moslem in Christian clothing, is the ideal crossover candidate, appealing to the emotionalism of the day, promising salvation based on an amorphous gospel of hope, a son of privilege carrying the water for the so-called dispossessed, another apostle of globalization.    
 
Will the voters be so deceived, so blind, so driven by selfishness, like Esau, forsaking their birthright for a meager bowl of soup?
 
If last November was any indication, we have much to be concerned about, my friends.

Protectionist Democrats in power?

The Democrats ran on a platform based on “A New Direction”. So far, the Democrats have not told us!

Thank God for something called “the veto”. Pres. Bush will use the veto often and the Democrats do not have the numbers to override him.

In the meantime, many people around the world cheered the Democrat victory. I hope that they are still cheerful when they understand the protectionist tendencies of the Democrats.

Yesterday, Buchanan fired the first shot. I don’t always agree with him but he tells you what he thinks. See Return of Economic Nationalism By Patrick Buchanan:

“Among the more dramatic events of this election year was one that has been little debated: The return of the trade-and-jobs issue, front and center, to American politics.

Note: Almost no embattled Republican could be found taking the Bush line that NAFTA, or CAFTA with Central America, or MFN for China, or globalization was good for America and a reason he or she should be re-elected. But in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan, attacks on free trade were central elements of Democratic strategy.”

OK. So you say that Buchanan is a hothead. How about this one?

Stuart Anderson is executive director of the National Foundation for American Policy, a non-partisan policy research organization based in Arlington, Va. He just wrote Bad Trade-Off–A Democratic Congress does not bode well for enhanced trade liberalization and foreign direct investment:

“In several places around the country, most notably Ohio and North Carolina, congressional candidates blamed international trade on local job losses. Prior to the election, former Clinton trade negotiator Mickey Kantor said, “If Democrats do as well as it appears, you’re going to see more resistance to trade agreements. Indeed, with the Democrats taking control of the House and (apparently) the Senate, expanding free trade could become more difficult.”

OK. How about one more? See Say hello to the new economic nationalists By Jacob Weisberg:

“Most of those who reclaimed Republican seats ran hard against free trade, globalization, and any sort of moderate immigration policy. That these Democrats won makes it likely that others will take up their reactionary call. Some of the newcomers may even be foolish enough to try to govern on the basis of their misguided theory.”

The AP reports today:

“There was also some concern that Democrats, who have a reputation for being more protective of U.S. jobs going overseas, will make it harder to achieve a global free trade accord.

And in China, some feared the resurgence of the Democrats would increase tension over human rights and trade and labor issues. China’s surging economy has a massive trade surplus with the United States.”

Free trade was a big loser in this election.

Thank God for Pres. Bush’s “veto” powers!

China’s communists have long since given up on true communism. In the interests of profit and wealth, property is respected more than human life and workers are exploited more than in any other country. Their cheap labor is an attack on our civil societies….

Death has even been accepted as an unpleasant but inevitable side-effect of rapid Chinese economic growth. According to Western estimates, there were around 100,000 fatal workplace accidents in China in 2005 — some 10,000 of those the result of mining accidents. These are the largest such fatality figures that any country has ever reported. Another dimension often brushed off as a side effect is child labor. To promote exports, a significant part of the economic boom, around 7 million Chinese children are sent out to work. In Asia as a whole, that figure is around 130 million. They weave carpets, carry heavy loads, build plastic toys — but most of all, they drive down prices.
